Learning Python Web Application Development with Flask

About Me

Welcome!  I’m a professional software engineer that has spent most of my career developing real-time embedded software.  Most of my career has been spent developing in C, but I have experience with Java and python.

Besides developing software, I enjoy cooking, researching stocks (my favorite site is The Motley Fool), watching football and baseball, and spending time with my family.  I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my wife and our two children.

  1. Great blog, well written and full of useful, properly structured and comprehensive tutorials.
    Thank you very much.

  2. Hi Patrick,

Thank you so much for writing the blog posts on Flask. I am just getting started and I found them super helpful. A roadblock I recently encountered is serving my files over https using the docker architecture that you described for a flask application.

Have you figured this out in the past? If so, how did you do it? I think this would be a great topic for the next blog post.

    Cheers

      Hi David,

That’s great the you’ve found these blog posts about Flask to be helpful! I love your recommendation to write about using this Docker configuration to serve the application over HTTPS. I have not gotten to this yet, but I think I will write a blog post about it soon. Miguel Grinberg has a great block post about serving Flask applications with HTTPS that I’ll be using as a reference:
